I met all kinds of rock stars in Memphis at the Hi-Tone Cafe. Not that you would have probably heard of any of them... but you should. Here, I'll put little bits in about them and they'll I'll try to link decent sites. There is my bit for humanity!

King Louie:
He is a one man band. He has a song about stinky feet and pork chops. He was supposed to play a few ditties in a record shop while we were there but stayed up until 3 (in the afternoon) after the oblivians played.

one * two * three

oblivians:
The whole reason for going to memphis was to see these guys. Oh, daddy did they cook. Even stupid drunk guys who think that you need to jump to everything didn't ruin these good times. And here's to greg oblivian for working at his record shop the next day.

one * two * three * four

final solutions:
These guys came to play... The lead singer had his glasses duct taped to his face and hair. I linked some pictures below and that's really going to sum it up better than blabbering. Jay Reatard played drums for this band. Got all band members to sharpie my new record before leaving the Hi-Tone, too.

one [to be honest it is hard to find links for these guys as i invariably end up with sites about the holocaust in my results... ideas are welcome]

lost sounds:
Jay Reatard is back, this time on keys or guitar. there is something so great about a lady guitar player that everyone can take seriously. Alicja is that guitar player.

one and it's all you should need as it has its own lovely links page.

That's it, kids. I'm off to create a guestbook in case anyone should want to leave some mental droppings on my doorstep... You know you want to.
