A city built on a flood plain!
So, this town gets flooded on an almost annual basis? That doesn't stop the fun that they are having here in the bayou.

In fact, they have something in these southern states that us northerners can't even conceive of now. It's a store called Dollar General. Lest you think that this is merely a dollar store, you had better check out the link. They have a whole variety of prices offered.

This came in quite handy when the flooding relegated many a call center employee to a desparate shopper. Where once there stood Jack in the Box and Whataburgers aplenty, now there was only hope of reaching locales directly attached to the strip mall where they found themselves stranded.

In comes Dollar General, ready to lend the stranded customers a helping hand. We happily cruised the aisles finding many store branded items to hold close to our hearts. It looks like we aren't the only ones to find joy in commerce:

Go Mini Consumer, Go!

Sadly the rain did go away and we are back to the drive thrus the fast food burger chains profer. We left holding a special place for "The General" as we call it. For nowhere on earth could there be a more joyous place to purchase both potted meats and size XXXL ladies briefs. It just isn't possible that the heavens would bless us with two such venues! It was truly an experience that will stick with us though the years may pass. They cannot damper a love for commerce in the manner we have seen here!
