Fascinatin' Fish Facts

Beaumont,TX is very close to the Gulf of Mexico.

Knowing this, it isn't all that surprising that seafood is a specialty of many of the restaurants in this area. Nor is it shocking to discover that the Texan flair for language extends to their food as well.

Today I'm going to pick on the crawfish.

Here are just a few of the names that I dug up that are used for crawfish:

crawdad
crawdaddy
crayfish
ecrevisse
langouste
rock lobster
spiny lobster
mud bug

That's quite a few names for such a little guy.
it was a shock that these friendly Texans expected that I knew them all already...
